Take a stroll through the city’s colourful history and unique modern culture. We start our vibrant Berlin tour in the very heart of Berlin’s new government quarter.
Meet your local guide in front of the Reichstag (ancient Prussian Parliament), at the big German flag in front of the main entrance, and hear the amazing story of this world-renowned building. You get up close and personal to some of the original sites of the apocalyptic Battle of Berlin in 1945, which put an end to the horrors of Nazi Germany.
Of course, times have changed greatly in Germany, and Berlin is no exception. While strolling through the streets of this city, we take you on a journey as we explore the political changes that have occurred over the decades, and you gain some further insight into modern Berlin culture. Our guides have their own pictures, original documents, as well as old and new maps, which make this Berlin walking tour experience all the more memorable and make our stunning city’s past come alive!
On our ultimate Berlin travel experience, you learn more about the countless historical events, modern places, and landmarks that have made Berlin what it is today. Brandenburg Gate and the beautiful Pariser Platz are a couple of the famous places we take in on our adventure. We walk through the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, a strong emotional expression of Germany dealing with the Holocaust and the troubled aspects of its past.
Learn more about one of history’s most notorious tyrants, Adolf Hitler, when we localise the almost forgotten site of his bunker, where he hid out during the final battle of World War II. Step back in time as we pass by former Nazi Ministries, the Topography of Terror, and Checkpoint Charlie. Hear stories of the Cold War, GDR fugitives, and day-to-day life in divided Germany, including a stop at the Wall. We visit the site where young Peter Fechter was murdered by border guards in 1962.
Next, we take a stroll along one of the city’s most well-known grand boulevards, Friedrichstraße, where some of the city’s top shops can be found. Your tour ends at what is widely regarded as the most beautiful place in Berlin: Gendarmenmarkt, site of three impressive buildings, the German and the French cathedrals and Schinkel’s Konzerthaus (concert hall), which brings us back to Prussian times. Here, we enjoy a delicious German snack lunch with a refreshing beer and relax after receiving a thorough introduction to the history of Germany.
Before you go, don’t forget to ask your expert local guide for more tips on what else to see, do, and eat during your stay.

Mr. Corey F. from Australia travelled on 31 Aug 2018:
I’m a few months late in writing this review, but it needs to be said – Dimitrios was an incredible man. Highly knowledgeable, really genuine and facilitated an educational and wonderfully-informative experience. Berlin is a sprawling and impressive city, and I wouldn’t have wanted to explore it with anyone else but him!
It was just me on the tour, which meant that I pretty much had a personal tour of Berlin! Once we’d seen everything listed on the itinerary, Dimitrios could have easily said goodbye, but he saw how enthusiastic I was, and how much I was loving the experience, that we continued for the rest of the day! We travelled Berlin from East to West, exploring and discussing the Second World War, the Nazi Party, the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie and just about the whole modern history of Berlin!
As an avid student of history, I’d been really excited to visit this city that played such a massive part in modern European history, and to see some of the sights that I’d read and heard so much about.
What I experienced with Dimitrios and Urban Adventures was beyond anything I could have hoped for.
Thank you guys so much, thanks to Bjorn for enquiring about my trip, and special thanks to Dimitrios who gave me one of the best experiences of my whole Euro Trip.Corey

Dimitris was an absolutely fantastic guide with so much knowledge and passion for Berlin.
Mrs. Katherine B. from USA travelled on 22 Apr 2017:
We had snowy, rainy and cold weather. The tour guide also handled our two cranky and cold children very well.
Ms. Georgina M. from Australia travelled on 20 Jan 2017:
It was a really interesting and informative tour, and the guide knew so much in-depth history about Berlin. My only issue is that it went on much longer than it should’ve, and I was looking forward to the tour ending before it did. My tip would be to condense the information just a little, as it felt like I was in a university lecture rather than an engaging history tour. I am an Art History student, so I am very interested in this, and love in-depth information, but this was a bit too much for even me!
Ms. Bronwyn M. from Australia travelled on 11 Oct 2016:
The tour more than met my expectations. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and we learnt a great deal. I would recommend this experience to anyone I know travelling to Berlin. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

The Storyline of Berlin tour was an excellent introduction to the city. I appreciated the opportunity to tour the city in a small group, and I was impressed by the level of knowledge the guide had about the sights we visited in Berlin. I revisited many of the sights the next day for greater depth because I was interested in learning more. I would recommend this walking tour to other Intrepid travelers. Thank you for organizing this tour!
Ms. Megan G. from Switzerland travelled on 27 Jul 2014:
Lucien (sp?) was amazing. He is a wealth of information and a very personable guy. We enjoyed our tour of Berlin immensely.
After we said goodbye, I regretted not inviting him to join us for a beer.

I did the walking tour of Berlin on 08/07/2013 and it was excellent. Our Guide Umberto knew his stuff and imparted it in an interesting and humorous way. The walk was well paced with plenty to see along the way and a couple of nice stops for a curry wurst and some chocolate.
Ms. Stephanie S. from Canada travelled on 31 Mar 2013:
Our tour guide was absolutely excellent – so knowledgeable, and really gave us an insight into Berlin and the people that live there. And the walk was just the right amount of time and places – especially the chocolate store was a great place to stop in the cold (brrrr).
